That's our philosophy at Blue Valley Quarter Horses - to produce American Quarter Horses that are bred to perform and look good while doing it! Some bloodlines have concentrated focus on the Jaz Ranch legacy (Poco Bueno via Little Steel Dust and Pocos Gray Comet) while others feature some notable Quarter Horse Hall of Famers and legendary arena talents. There are some interesting outcrosses, too, to keep true to the heart of the American Quarter Horse - a versatile athlete capable of excelling in many different avenues.
Mares and stallions used in the Blue Valley breeding program showcase sought-after lines, including King, Poco Bueno, Little Steel Dust, Pocos Gray Comet, Hollywood Dunit, Doc Olena, Smart Little Lena, Docs Hickory, High Brow Hickory, High Brow Cat, Peptoboonsmal, Peppy San Badger, Dual Rey, Playgun, Freckles Playboy, Chicks Beduino, and Dash For Cash, to name a few. These pedigrees are packed with proven performers - money and point earners in close up generations as well as AQHA (and other association) Hall of Fame inductees. Good minds, good temperaments, and ability are our focus (and it doesn't hurt to have some occasionally some eye-whopping color!).
We want to go above and beyond with Blue Valley Quarter Horses. Our commitment isn't just to getting a foal on the ground, weaned, and sent to its new home, but to setting the foundation for that horse's future. Mares and stallions are 5 panel DNA tested or clear by parentage (unless otherwise noted, in which case the foal will be tested prior to being offered for sale). Coat color tests can be done for foals prior to pick up by request of the buyer and will be charged to the buyer at the time the test is performed. All foals will be dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked, halter broke, trailer trained, feet picked up, and socialized (introduced to other horses, cattle, sheep, and dogs) prior to leaving for new homes.
